Safety Tips for Visitors

Many people love the Caribbean and its many attractions so today we'll give you some tips on entering the lovely twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
These are general tips released by the ministry of tourism in Trinidad and Tobago.
  •  Comply with all laws and respect local customs
  •  Be sure to drive on the left side of the road and heed all traffic laws.
  • Avoid hitchhiking or picking up hitchhikers.
  • Remain alert, trust your instincts and pay attention to your surroundings.
  • Avoid carrying large amounts of cash and expensive, jewellery and placing around your neck. 
  • Avoid leaving bags, cameras, and valuables unattended, avoid leaving these  or similar items exposed in vehicles
  • Use appropriate banks and cambios for all foreign exchange transactions
  • If your passport, credit card or travelers cheques have been stolen report it immediately to the police  and your banking agent.
  • Avoid excessive alcohol consumption
  • Only purchase food or beverages from vendors with valid food badges
  •  when on the beach follow the advise of the lifeguards. They are trained in beach and water safety
  • Look for the Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Industry Certification logo for certified operators.
